A friendly reminder that every Thursday we meet up to play casuals for any and all fighting games. Come by and hang out. It’s a great opportunity to get some good practice and learn about the game.

I will try to start recording some of our matches and uploading them to YouTube so they can be used for reference and to inevitably showcase how much we’ve improved by meeting up every week.

Please post a comment below if a different night than Thursdays works for you.  We hope that all who are interested join in our video gaming meetups!

Fianl Fantasy XIV Review by GameChanger – Brevard County Florida

Having played FFXI for about 3 years, it was a bit disappointing to see the lack of new features in this release.  This economy is a bit tough, but overall this is a good addition to the FF line.   There seem to be too many obstacles.  Accounts are complex, and how to split up characters doesn’t make much sense.  However, this is a visually stunning video game with lots of WOW.

Pros:

  • Visually stunning
  • favors quick changes

Cons:

  • Needs better instruction
  • the quest is timed

Marvel Vs Capcom 3:  Worth the wait.

Thanks to all who came out for our midnight release of MVC3.  Here is our review by the numbers.

Graphics: 9
This game runs so smooth for such detailed graphics.  Many scenes make your eyes pop and the characters have stunning detail.  This game looks as good as the best of the rest.

Gameplay: 8
All the standards of a fighting game are here, a single player arcade mode, a super intense online multiplayer that doesn’t require months of practice making it well worth the wait. Controls have been modified from the original to use a more simple 3 button attack system taken from Tatsunoko vs. Capcom allowing even the novice to quickly become involved, but that doesn’t sacrifice depth in any way.

Sound: 8
The music is great to listen to never letting you down but the jewel in the crown of MvsC 3 is the voices, as the level begins characters will taunt each other in their own unique style.

OVERALL FUN-FACTOR: 9
Is this worth the wait? The answer is “yes”, we the fans have been given a superb title definitely worth the years of begging.  I’m sure soon everyone will have their favorites on their team in no time.

Age of Conan: Rise of the Godslayer – GameChanger Florida

This is a visually stunning video game – undoubtedly the best-looking MMO we’ve played to date and we’ve not even witnessed the beauty of the new region of Khitai that’s introduced by this debut expansion. The expanded content begins of a new race, the Khitans, as an option alongside the Cimmerians, Aquilonians and Stygians in the character creation screen, but apart from aesthetic changes to make this eastern race more oriental in appearance, you won’t begin to see the fundamental differences of the new Rise Of The Godslayer content until you complete the introductory quests in Tortage.

Rise Of The Godslayer is expanding Age Of Conan horizontally and filling in the areas that arguably, shouldn’t have been an issue in the first place. But this is much more than a glorified patch: the new country of Khitai is big and radically different place from the rest of Hyboria that offers a comprehensively new content to new and loyal players. And if you’ve left it as long as we have between games, you may well enjoy Hyboria much more this time around.
